“Praised be Jesus Christ!” – is the proper form for Roman Catholics : to which the answer is: “Now and forever! Amen.” Greeting Clergy and Religious the Latin form is: “Laudetur Jesus Christus!” the answer: “In Aeternum! Amen.” (These forms failed to take hold in the U.S., possibly because of a large Protestant majority.)
It gives honor to Christ, and helps to strengthen our identity and direction.
