Enjoy the majestic views and fresh air (the way God made it!,) from the southern stretches of the Sangre de Cristo mountains near Silver City, New Mexico. Not just a vacation of a lifetime; it could also be the vacation for a lifetime. Men, fathers and sons or single young men of at least 11 years are invited to join an elite group from our parish as we pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery for a week’s stay, July 23 to July 30. Our hosts will be the Benedictine monks. We will live with them, pray with them, eat with them and work with them over the course of our stay. You will have the opportunity for daily Mass and may gather with the monks in the chapel as they recite the liturgical hours in choir. Work details will be according to one’s ability or talent. They may need help with the cooking, or perhaps the animals may need attention. Obviously, the donkey will have to be ridden and friends made with the spring lambs. There are garden projects and building projects – the more hands, the easier the job!! This whole scenario should be of great interest to fathers and their sons, but time is of crucial importance. NOW is the time to make a commitment to this journey. Space is limited to only 13 and arrangements will have to be made both for the trip and with the monks. The money will cover van rental, gasoline and stipend for the monastery. Please contact Sean ASAP with any question you may have or to make a reservation hieronyme@hotmail.com !! Without YOU this trip may not be possible.
