Food Boxes  We wish to thank our parishioners for their extraordinary generosity in support of our Thanksgiving meal baskets. We will be able to provide all our families with a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner thanks to you. Once again, you have exceeded all our expectations. A blessed Thanksgiving to you all. Charlie Beck, president, Women’s Society and committee.

This year OLHC will be putting together holiday food boxes for those families of our parish hardest hit by this difficult economy. In November we will be collecting canned foods and/or monetary donations. Canned foods would include yams, cranberry sauce, chicken broth, green beans, box of roll mix and the like. Or if you prefer, a few dollars donation per family would provide a generous food box for our families under more financial stress. The money would help to buy the perishables later, like turkeys, pie and potatoes. If your family is one of those who needs help, please contact Msgr. Perez. Your names will be kept confidential.

If you are willing to help clean the chapel on the third Saturday or Friday, there will be sign up sheets for October/November/December. WE do appreciate your past help but the need is still there. Thank You, Carmen Gonzalez

There will be no general meetings of the Women’s Society in the coming fall months. We realize with movie night, Octoberfest, Christmas dance, Christmas boutique and so on there is little time for another meeting. It is also difficult to leave hungry family members hanging around after Mass waiting for you. So we will be discontinuing the after Mass meeting format as of now. But keep your eyes open. There are plans in the wings for a gathering before the Holidays that will be a more edifying, satisfying, unifying, beautifying, glorifying and possibly jollifying. (which I think is a word I just made up).

In the meantime may blessing abound and we will see each other at these other fun events.

Steering Committee.
