Sermon for Pentecost Sunday – May 31, 2020 7:30 am Mass by Monsignor Patrick Perez

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

Monsignor began the sermon by reciting the Hail Mary.

This is, of course, the great feast of Pentecost and I want to say some words about the Holy Ghost and the action in the Church. But we also have our First Holy Communicants at the following Mass at 10 o’clock, so my main sermon I wrote was on the Blessed Sacrament but you don’t have First Communion at this Mass so you get the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost – this is the anniversary of the coming of the Holy Ghost to the Church in a particular way. And what I put before you as the subject of your holy meditation is to understand that the Holy Ghost – all three persons of the Holy Trinity – they are all God but each one has their own Will. They don’t will to do what is against God but they will to do certain things. And it was the Will of the Holy Ghost to come in a particular way to the Church and to work certain actions at the time that He decided that was going to be done. This was agreed upon in the plan of salvation that Our Lord would redeem the world and following the redemption He would go back to heaven. Now this is interesting: did you ever think about it? Jesus could have stayed here. He is the Immortal; He is God, God Incarnate. He could be still in Rome or wherever He wanted to live running the Church to this day because He would never die. But it was in the plan of salvation to do it the way that they did it which is Our Lord goes back to heaven and sends the Holy Ghost to us.

Now the Holy Ghost is the spirit of the mission of the Church. It is Christ’s redemptive act that gives efficacy to the salvific mission of the Church, but it is the Holy Ghost that drives us on and keeps us going and inspires us to do what the Church is supposed to do. We get a lot of criticism here at little ol’ Our Lady Help of Christians Church because we follow the tradition of the Church, but what is the tradition of the Church but the inspiration of the Holy Ghost? This is something everybody can understand and should understand. Outside of the Catholic Church you cannot be saved. To say that somebody who is outside of the Catholic Church is saved by their own religion, Hinduism or Protestantism or Buddhism, to say that they are saved by that, is a very serious sin against the Holy Ghost because it’s a serious lie against the work of Christ and his passion and death and resurrection. It is insulting Christ and His passion, death and resurrection. And it’s an insult against the Holy Ghost who continues the mission of the Church.

So everything then depends on what is truly Catholic? You know you should be inspired by the Holy Ghost to ask yourself, is what I am doing truly Catholic because in that my salvation lies. And I have to tell you it is once again common sense but so many teach against it. The only true guide to what is Catholic is what the Church has always done, always taught and always believed. You must understand this. To be Catholic you have to do what the Church has always done, always, since the time of Christ passed down through the apostles. What the Church has always taught and that is a constant teaching inspired by the Holy Ghost from the beginning and what the Church has always believed – that means the faithful who have always accepted the teaching of the Holy Ghost through the Church. If where you go to Mass lacks any one of these things then they are not Catholic and you should not be there.

For example, the modern parishes – they have the so-called English Mass. It’s not the English Mass, it’s the Modern Protestant Mass. That is not a Catholic service. It’s younger than I am. Can I say that that’s inspired by the Tradition of the Church and the mission of the Holy Ghost? You know, mother always told me, Never trust a Mass younger than you are! Okay? The Novus Ordo Mass, written by six Protestants and two F,reemasons which is the Mass of the parishes around everywhere is not a Catholic service. It did not exist before 1969 and you shouldn’t be going there.

Look at the modern situation now – I’m going to finish up with the gifts of the Holy Ghost, reading about the gifts, and a consecration to the Holy Ghost for all of us today. We just finished the Holy Ghost Novena. The Holy Ghost Novena isn’t just another novena. It’s the inspiration of novenas. It’s the very first Novena. People wonder why do we do nine things because – why nine days for a novena, where did this nine come from? I know, dice only have six sides so they couldn’t have decided that way! So where did it come from? It came from between the Ascension, Our Lord leaving the apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary in the early Church, and the descending of the Holy Ghost is nine days. And the apostles and the Blessed Virgin met in prayer for all of those nine days for the coming of the Paraclete. That’s where we get novenas. So we just finished that novena and I want to read some of the beautiful prayers and consecration for you at the end of this. But I’m just saying; look at what we are undergoing at the moment.

The Holy Ghost gave us amongst other things the Sacrament of Confirmation. There are some here who are not yet confirmed; probably most of you are, and what is the principle action of Confirmation? It gives you the Holy Ghost – now for the purpose of making you a soldier of Christ and you will say, well; at my baptism I received the Holy Ghost. Well, it isn’t binary. You either have the Holy Ghost or you don’t and if you do have the Holy Ghost then we’d say at Baptism you were a soldier of Christ. The Holy Ghost has determined He makes you a soldier of Christ at your Confirmation, not at your Baptism, okay. There’s another thing that is done with the Holy Ghost at Baptism. But Confirmation makes you a soldier of Christ. How many take this seriously? I have heard confessions for many years. I’ve had people come in and confess cowardice at making the Sign of the Cross in a restaurant before meals, not saying grace before meals in a restaurant because they were afraid. My dear, if you are afraid to do that, what’s going to happen when you’re called upon to be martyred if you ever are? And look what’s going on in the Church right now.

We have only the Holy Ghost and the tradition of the Church to rely on. The pope and all the bishops and priests for the most part – there have been a few little centiles of brightness who have spoken up, but for the most part from the pope on down they have abandoned the work of the Holy Ghost and they have insulted Christ and they continue to do so.

So the pope hasn’t come out with saying the main thing he needs to say. Why are we here today and why aren’t you wearing masks? And why aren’t you social distancing – or better yet why aren’t you at home spraying yourselves with Lysol in the closet, okay? It’s because my mission, our mission, the mission of the Church – and this is what the pope and bishops have refused to say in the face of these globalists, the one-world order people who are forcing this virus nonsense on us – that’s what this really is. Am I saying there is no virus? No. But the response is one of a trial implementation of the reign of the anti-Christ. That’s what we are doing right now?

Okay, the pope has not said this: The mission of the Church comes from Christ. We are autonomous of the state. The state never has the right to impede the mission of the Church which comes from the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. They do not have that right! Now you might have been able to say well we have a Constitutional right but somebody just told me this morning that Roberts, that creep who wears judicial robes and lives in Washington, declared that the Supreme Court will not hear cases that challenge the shutting down of Churches, okay? So, so much for the Constitutional part but do we care? No, because our mission comes from God. We are autonomous. Through history they’ve always arrested us and cut our heads off and stuff like that. I would consider those incidentals. I mean most people wouldn’t but I consider them incidentals. So we have to fulfill the mission of the Church.

So how does it apply to us? Well, to me it applies to my flock and I tell you I’ve been doing moonlighting – and I’ll tell you why! Because the local bishops as I said they have utterly failed Christ because their head, the pope, refuses to tell them that your mission is from God and you are autonomous and carry on. For example, yesterday. A couple of days ago I got a phone call – You don’t know me, I don’t go to your Mass – typical of these days, I get about four or five of these a week now – but my mother-in-law is dying and we need a priest to come and anoint her. It wasn’t right next door either. So I said, well, of course. And just out of curiosity, how about your priest where you normally go to Mass? Well, he’s not answering phone calls right now.

So I went yesterday, I anointed the lady. The family was a very, very good family, very grateful. And I said, what about father, Father Daniel or something like that, Father Bob, one of those kinds of things and he said, Oh, yeah, I know, Father Daniel called us back this morning and he refused to come. Okay, why is Father Daniel refusing to come? Because the bishop isn’t proclaiming the mission of the Church, the pope is not telling the bishops to proclaim the mission of the Church.

So on this Feast of Pentecost remember that not only does the Church have its’ mission and power from the Holy Ghost, but we individually do. You know, we are in the midst of this virus thing. Look what’s going on around you. Pray to the Holy Ghost to open your eyes. Let’s take the face mask thing, okay? I get furious when I get to a store and it says you have to have a face mask first of all. And if they stop me when I’m going in I say I have a medical condition. Now I’m not lying, everybody has a medical condition. I mean if you are perfectly healthy that’s a medical condition. And they go, Oh, okay, and they let me in and then everybody in the store looks at me – murderer! Murderer! (Monsignor laughing.) Okay, first of all what’s the science of this? This will be hard for some to accept because the “accepted wisdom”, “accepted practice” is that face masks keep everybody from viruses and bacteria’s and things like that. I want to just refer you quickly to the science on the subject. There’s a beautiful thing you can read on line. And all you have to remember is it’s called
Why Facemasks Don’t Work (https://www.oralhealthgroup.com/features/face-masks-dont-work-revealing-review/) and it is written by Dr. John Hardie H – a – r – d – i – e. Just Google that, Why Facemasks Don’t Work, Dr. John Hardie.

Now it’s not an op-ed. He just doesn’t sit there and say, Oh, I just don’t like facemasks and so I don’t think they work. No, this is a compendium of thirty-four scientific studies, research papers, other articles written from research and also from statements by people who make the masks, 3-M and places like that, and what they do and more importantly do not do as far as filtering out things. Facemasks do nothing. The scientific evidence is that facemasks have a 0.00 effect on anything; not on keeping a sick person from transmitting things, not on a well person from getting sickness from something else, not on anything. Why? Especially when you’re talking about viri, viruses. A virus looks at even the best facemask that they use in operating rooms. It looks at it as the tunnel of love, okay? They don’t even touch the sides of it. They come and they go like it’s not there but you go in these stores and you see everybody not questioning what is going on. Now why am I mentioning this from the pulpit? Because this has to do with the rights of the Church.

If we as Catholics don’t start standing up to that kind of thing then that will be used incrementally eventually, to throw us into prison camps. That’s not far off. Look, do you remember we’re a little bit off the height of the frenzy of this current thing but in the frenzy, if CNN and NBC and ABC had put out a warning that it was Catholics responsible for the corona virus and if you get rid of them this will go away and we can open your stores and restaurants and you can go back to work and everything will be fine, they would have done it! I guarantee you – look, we are all very harsh on the people of Nazi Germany, and I don’t mean the Himmlers and Hitlers and stuff of the age. What I mean is the average person. Looking back on the average German citizen we go, why didn’t they stand up to this? Well, look at yourselves. Why don’t you stand up to this? I tell you, they will do anything that the government tells them to do at this point and it’s not good, especially hindering the mission of the Church.

So my dear faithful on this the anniversary of the very Spirit of the Church, remember the obligations of your Confirmation. You are a Soldier of Christ with all that “good soldier” implies. Do we know what being a good soldier is? You throw yourself into your line of duty even if it is at the cost of your own physical health or life, but never your spiritual health or life. You look at what the hierarchy of the Church from the pope on down are doing now and you’d think the effect of Confirmation was to make satanic pantywaist ballerinas out of people which is just what they’re doing. I mean, a priest who knows one of his own is dying and won’t go out because he has been told by his bishop to be afraid of a virus, that is the state of things now, my friends, in the Church and we all need to wake up to that. If you go to the modern Mass, STOP! Get out of there! Because by their fruits you will know them.

Now I want to just finish up quickly with the Act of Consecration to the Holy Ghost. If we could all just kneel – I know you don’t have the words but just follow along in your minds, raise your heart and your mind to God while I am saying it.

On my knees before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses, I offer myself soul and body to Thee, Eternal Spirit of God. I adore the brightness of Thy purity, the unerring keenness of Thy justice, and the might of Thy love. Thou art the Strength and Light of my soul. In Thee I live and move and am. I desire never to grieve Thee by unfaithfulness to grace, and I pray with all my heart to be kept from the smallest sin against Thee. Mercifully guard my every thought and grant that I may always watch for Thy light and listen to Thy voice and follow Thy gracious inspirations. I cling to Thee and give myself to Thee and ask Thee by Thy compassion to watch over me in my weakness. Holding the pierced Feet of Jesus and looking at His Five Wounds and trusting in His Precious Blood and adoring His opened Side and stricken Heart, I implore Thee, Adorable Spirit, Helper of my infirmity, so to keep me in Thy grace that I may never sin against Thee. Give me grace O Holy Ghost, Spirit of the Father and the Son, to say to Thee always and everywhere, “Speak Lord, for Thy servant heareth.”
Amen.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
