Have you seen the Back to School Giving Tree? Right smack on the facing bulletin board as you leave Mass. You might stop for a gander to see if there’s something we need that meets with what you can provide. There are arts and science supplies, there are school needs like markers, tape of any variety, envelopes and stickers! Or there are the 24/7 needs like tissues, Clorox wipes and copy paper. Use your imagination – you won’t disappoint!!!
Upcoming Deliverance Masses celebrated by Fr. Lawrence Smith. There remain but two in the Novena of Masses for this year, please note them on your calendar. The next will be on the Feast of St. Raphael the Archangel on Thursday, October 24; and the final on Saturday, November 2, All Souls Day. The intention of the Masses is for the deliverance our loved ones or ours-elves from the influences, assaults and tyranny of satan and his demons. Holy Mother Church has recourse to Novenas in order to obtain that which men on earth might otherwise despair of receiving. To participate, attend Mass or make a Spiritual Communion on these days, include such intentions as part of your daily Rosary and pray the Novena to the Immaculate Conception from November 29 through December 7 (when daily Masses will also be offered for the same intentions). All OLHC parishioners are generally enrolled.
Travel with me now to those exciting days of yesteryear! You cannot be in the traditional movement and not hear names like Michael Davies or Malachi Martin – in fact, you need go no farther than our bookstore! But why not also see them? Search for: fr z’s blog Michael Davies to watch Bill Buckley’s Firing Line from 1980. As Davies delineates a plethora of liturgical problems arising from Vatican 2, a proponent tries ineptly to defend them. Tradition 101
