Celebrating 38 Years of Catholic Tradition in Education

Not Fun in the Summertime Yardsale was a great success! No, it was a GREAT, GREAT success, quite possibly the biggest yardsale we have ever hosted in our long history of Saturday moneymaking. But you have to account for the fact that most normal people are suffering acute cabin fever, so any reason they have to get out to do something and actually see and converse with another human being will be hungrily set upon. The bottom line was a whopping $3100!!! That’s a lot of pocket change, my friend! And we have no one to thank but YOU, which we do, and that, profoundly and with sincere appreciation! Also, kudos to the tenth power to all our great parishioners who turned out to help us sort through all the donations – this really made the going easy! Keep in mind we might also do a “clothing only” drive in September if normalcy gets back on track.

We Told You So! Remember how we used to beg everyone to come to our annual Oktoberfest celebrations with the promise of great food, ice cold libations, raffles, and fun things to do for the whole family? Remember that? And remember how we used to say we were saving all the proceeds so we could eventually install a much-needed new roof on the Chapel to keep you dry during Mass? Well, “eventually” just rolled into town! Tear-off of the old roof will begin on Monday, August 3, and installation of the new roof will be completed on Saturday, August 8. During that time, the CHAPEL WILL BE CLOSED!!! What does this mean to you? 1) There will be NO daily Mass in the Chapel. 2) There will be NO confessions. 3) There will be NO evening devotions. 4) There will be NO visits to the Blessed Sacrament permitted. Why? Because the Chapel is closed… ‘member? First Saturday Mass and adoration will NOT be affected. The regular Sunday schedule including Masses and confessions will NOT be affected. To simplify, there will be no schedule changes at all this week and we will see you again next Sunday, August 2, at the usual times!

Times are hard! You gotta do what you gotta do! I’ll bet everyone is wolfing down their fair share of Little Caesar’s Pizza, pick-up or delivered. Now before you stuff that empty box sadly into the trash, remember to tear off the Proof of Purchase tab found on a corner flap of the lid. Then bring that PoP along with you on Sunday and put it in the collection basket when ugh PoP’s, PPA students win a free pizza party courtesy of Little Caesar’s!!! PPA Enrollment- Have you pulled all the strings necessary to get your children or grandchildren into Padre Pio Academy for the Fall Semester? Time is at a premium as the absolute cut-off date is August 5. Please remember Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament beginning after morning Mass this Friday, and lasting 24 hours until morning Mass of First Saturday, August 1. There is a sign-up sheet in the vestibule if you will dedicate an hour.
